When Halloween falls on Monday night we know what that means…
Streets of Hope in Costume!
Our volunteers showed up to serve this weeks streets dressed as their favorite alter-ego showing up in a variety of costumes ranging from cuddly Whinny the Poo, to fierce Taekwondo fighter, to bold and brave airline pilot.
Lars (tall headless man in the back) dressed as a Headless Horsemen and ended up being voted the creepiest costume of the evening. Congrats Lars!
We hope our homeless friends enjoyed the candy we handed out. It was fitting, yes, given the holiday, but also represents a gap in resources. Typically we hand out over 250+ sandwiches which are also made by volunteers. Interested in helping assemble sandwiches on an upcoming Monday? Contact us here.
As we extend a big thank you to volunteers we look forward to our next celebration. Thanksgiving!
Monday, November 21st is our big Thanksgiving celebration and we hope you’ll join us in gratitude with our homeless neighbors of San Diego, CA.
