It was a cold, rainy night in downtown San Diego when we met to feed San Diego’s homeless.

“People were surprised that we continued to do what we do every Monday…”

Last week was our annual Christmas Special Event night (read more here), it was warmer and dryer than tonight. Last week we even passed out rain tarps, blankets and warm clothes. But even in the rain and cold, many Streets of Hope volunteers still showed up tonight to serve food to the homeless like we normally do every Monday night by simply making care bags and passing them out on the streets.

Feeding the Homeless on the Streets and From Our Cars

Like other Mondays, we met on the streets and made sandwiches to put in our care bags. Many homeless people know we meet there every Monday night and they showed up more than an average night because they knew we would be there.

After we feed those who showed up on the corner, normally we walk the streets of San Diego to pass out food to others; however, this time we piled into our cars and drove around looking for our homeless family and friends who wanted a bag.

Many people were surprised that we continued to do what we do every Monday, so a special thanks to all of you showed up and continued to serve.
