San Diego Downtown Homeless Pregnant Women Receives Tent

San Diego Downtown Homeless Pregnant Women Receives Tent

This last Monday night in downtown San Diego it was cold on the streets. As we began the night, a homeless pregnant women, Sherri, and her husband, Frank approached us to tell us they had been mugged on the streets. Frank and Sherri have been friends of the Streets of Hope San Diego for at least a year. You could see in his eyes the pain of not being able to protect Sherri and their unborn child from the attackers. Frank even confessed that his faith in God had been shaken slightly over the situation.

The Streets of Hope San Diego is 100% volunteer with no paid staff. We operate 100% on donations and most of that money goes to feed the homeless. So that night the group came together and everyone reached into their pockets to donate the money to buy them a tent. In addition, we blessed them with a couple of blankets, a sweatshirt and food.

Both Frank and Sherri said that they were so grateful that we helped them. They were even able to smile. (See the photos.)
