Gifted Donations from Doctors Without Borders SDSU

The Streets of Hope San Diego thanks SDSU Doctors Without Borders for gifting San Diego’s homeless this Monday night with food and donations.

“…I was moved by the passion of the volunteers that I met.”

Nicole U. from Doctors Without Borders  dropped off donation kits directly at the Streets of Hope down location! They created 37 kits consisting of water bottles, snacks, washcloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, etc.  Here’s what Nicole said about serving the homeless tonight:

“Our group is fortunate to have put together these kits, and I was moved by the passion of the volunteers that I met.

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.

As a student chapter, we are inspired by MSF’s mission to serve those in need across the world. Founded in 2020, health equity advocacy was a major contributing inspiration to our chapter at SDSU due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and lack of healthcare access. MSF’s work is based on humanitarian principles. We are committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation. MSF is neutral, and does not take sides in armed conflicts. We provide care on the basis of need. and push for independent access to victims of conflict as required under international humanitarian law.

Doctors Without Borders SDSU/Friends of MSF SDSU is a student-led organization that is open to anyone. Our members include everyone from pre-health majors to communications, sociology, and more. We are bound by our passion to serve others.

We will definitely volunteer with Streets of Hope in the near future, and we will encourage others to volunteer on their own time as well!”

Thanks Nicole and all the volunteers from Doctors Without Borders SDSU for making Monday night a great night to serve the homeless.
